What is Archetypist.com?  I created this site in 2009 as a resource for those looking for more information on personal archetypes.  It has since spawned a podcast that uses the mythological story of the major arcana of the Tarot as an important analog of Joseph Campbell's Hero's Journey that includes more feminine archetypal characters and situations.  In the Blog section below will find essays and articles by myself as well as artists and practitioners using archetypal patterns for positive change in individual lives and communities.   Stay in touch by signing up for email updates or connecting through social media.

About Julienne

I have a deep appreciation of beauty, curiosity and a desire to improve the world in which I live.   I’m a lifelong artist (there’s an archetype) as well as entrepreneur (another one!).  My career has always involved technology & communications.  I’m a veteran of several tech booms in the SF Bay Area and when I left the corporate world in 2009 I took with me the appreciation of what it’s like to strive for balance in a competitive world where life and work frequently diverged into two different directions.  My work in archetypes as well as other methodologies help me bring new ideas to the world via this website and podcast. I have always been interested in people and the why’s and how’s of what we make of our lives as we live them.  My deep curiosity has lead me to many fascinating places on this planet as well as the study of  philosophy, psychology, linguistics, cultural anthropology, mythology and martial arts. When you have had the honor of learning with many great teachers and noble friends along the way as I have you can’t help but want to share what you have learned with others.  Some of the esteemed teachers that I have had the privilege to learn from are Caroline Myss, Ken Wilber, Jim Curtan, Jean Houston, Richard Tarnas, Mario Martinez, Tim Freke, and David Whyte. I am affiliated with the Center for Applications of Psychological Type, The Integral Institute, TEDxSF and of course the CMED Institute from which I am a graduate. I am available as a contributing author,  speaker, group leader and wedding officiant. Please do feel free to contact me with any questions. jg@archetypist.com I will begin offering one on one sessions again later in the year.
